Each year at the World Car Awards, vehicles from all over the world are honored for their innovative features and strides in technology. This year, a new category was added: 2017 World Urban Car. The first to be chosen for the prestigious honor was none other than the 2017 BMW i3.
The BMW i3 was no doubt aided by its standout feature: its unbeatable fuel economy, which gives it the ability to drive up to 114 miles on battery alone, saving untold amounts of money and lowering one’s impact on the environment. Its game-changing lithium ion battery gets an increased capacity of 50 percent without taking up more physical space.
Perhaps the feature that most greatly contributes to its “urban car” elite status is its compact size, which leads to top-notch maneuverability. Never will you struggle to fit into a tight parking spot behind the wheel of the BMW i3. In urban environments, this feature is nothing short of crucial.
If you’re looking for the dream car to cruise around the city, then the BMW i3 is for you. To learn more about the BMW i3 or to see what other cars BMW currently has in store, don’t hesitate to give us a call or visit us anytime, here at BMW of Bowling Green.
The rumor mill is buzzing, and BMW fans like the sound. It seems as if the much-anticipated BMW M8 may just hit dealerships as early as 2019, according to BMW Blog, a trusted source of all things BMW.
BMW Blog believes that the new BMW M8 will be available in three different models: an M8 Coupe (F92), M8 Convertible (F91) and M8 Gran Coupe (F93), with the coupe joining the marketplace first in 2019 and the others soon to follow.
The source also claims that the model will be powered by a 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8 engine, just like the BMW M550i and the upcoming F90 M5 model, likely with the ability to get up to 600 horsepower. They also believe it’s safe to assume that the BMW M8 will be available with all-wheel-drive, making it a truly diverse model.
Of course, this is after years of speculation and whispers about the BMW M8 which was thought to be a myth for a seriously long time, until those whispers become words from BMW themselves in recent months.

Even without hybrid or electric cars, there are ways to be economical about driving. Whether you love the environment or you love saving money, you can do both with these eco-friendly car tips!
If you keep up with regular car maintenance, you’ll be able to conserve gas on the road. You can improve your gas mileage by up to 4% with just a regular tune-up. Keep an eye on more serious problems like weak spark plugs because major problems can decrease your gas mileage by up to 40%.
If you practice less aggressive driving habits, you’re sure to save money on fuel. Try gradually braking and gradually accelerating at stoplights in order to burn less fuel. If you use cruise control as often as possible, you’ll also save gas money.
Know when to use your air conditioner and when to roll the windows down. For city driving, when you’re going slower, windows down will be the best option to conserve fuel. However, on the highway, windows down cause too much drag, so you’ll want to use air conditioning.
Remember, always check your tire pressure! If your tires are too low, they’ll cause more friction and resistance on the road, leading to more burning of gas.

Whether you’re setting out on your road trip tomorrow or you aren’t going until July, it’s never too early or too late to implement some helpful hacks into your agenda to reduce your stress levels. Here are some of our favorite road trip tips.
First of all, you want to keep yourself and your passengers entertained on the drive, especially if you’re traveling with kids. Pre-load your mobile devices with apps, games, and videos—unless your car has a mobile hotspot, in which case you don’t have to worry about it.
Check out books for the kids and audiobooks for you to listen to on the drive from your local library. Another way to keep kids occupied is to get a map that will span your whole trip, laminate it, and have your kids follow along with marker so they can see your progress.
Keep your car clean and organized with easy food storage tricks, like keeping celery or pretzels in a half-empty jar of peanut butter, putting dry snacks in old coffee creamer bottles, and using a plastic cereal container as a small trashcan.
You should also download apps that will make your trip easier, like the SitOrSquat app that helps you find clean places to use the restroom and GasBuddy, which compares area gas prices and helps you find the cheapest ones.
These are just a few hacks to improve your road trip—find even more here. And if you’re looking for the perfect summer road trip car, stop by BMW of Bowling Green today!
The new BMW 6 Series M Sport is like this, but perhaps even cooler
The BMW 6 Series is a luxurious and impressive lineup unto itself. But a BMW fan will know that the brand likes its fair share of special editions. The latest example of this is the new BMW 6 Series M Sport Limited Edition, which builds off the existing M Sport package. The new M Sport Limited Edition is only available overseas.
The new 6 Series M Sport Limited Edition can be had in coupe, convertible, or four-door configuration. No matter which style calls to your taste, you’ll notice the Limited Edition in the Black and Fjord blue color scheme that distinguishes it, plus the Merino leather seats and floor mats.
The Limited Edition 6 Series M Sport cars will sit on two-toned, 20 inch wheels. The sleek, low-riding body of these BMWs gets a special blue paint job called Sonic Speed Blue metallic. The interior of these vehicles will have carbon fiber trim, and carbon fiber will be added to the mirror caps as well.
Prices are not yet available for the new Limited Edition 6 Series vehicles, nor has BMW released how many it will be making. Fortunately for us in the states, we have the M Sport package to enjoy, which is almost just as good. To learn more about BMW special edition series, call us at BMW of Bowling Green.
