BMW has recently announced that their all-new 3 Series coupe and convertible will be renamed! Sporting its new title, the 4 Series coupe will go on sale mid-2013 while the new 4 Series convertible is expected to hit dealerships this fall.
The current 3 Series models, including a sedan, coupe, convertible, and wagon, have proven to be very successful for BMW. Indeed, it is the best-selling car in the BMW lineup and made up 28% of BMW’s sales in 2011.
The new 4 Series concept photos were recently released, while the official launch is set for the Detroit Auto Show in January. The 4 Series Coupe will be longer, wider, and lower than the current 3 Series, improving upon cabin space and passenger comfort. Although the engine lineup has not been released yet, BMW’s all-wheel drive xDrive versions will be available.
As BMW puts it, “the 4 stands for greater sportiness, greater exclusivity and even clearer differentiation from the BMW 3 Series range.”
