Over the past few months, we here at BMW of Bowling Green have been working hard to keep you up to date on the new BMW i3 Electric vehicle. Earlier there was a lot of speculation on the success of the new EV model in European countries. Starting off, Britain showed a strong interest in the i3 which helped settle many BMW fans nerves. Last month, BMW confirmed that the number of interested consumers has greatly increased and is spreading to other European markets recently. Ian Robertson of BMW has stated that 100,000 BMW i3 reservations have been made, and a “significant number” of deposits came along with them.
Although the new i3 and i8 production models won’t officially be showcased to the public until the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, Robertson and other members of BMW have expressed their positive attitude is in part thanks to the adjustments and new accomplishments for their EV lineup. Robertson expects even more progress after future developments stating “in the next three to four years we’ll see more development of the batteries than we have in the last 100…” All in all this is good news for BMW and brings hope to the BMW i3 and i8 models in European markets.
