At the LA Auto Show beginning this weekend, BMW is premiering more than just their 2014 BMW i3 and i8 models. The new BMW 360 Electric portfolio will also be on display.
The portfolio is a collection of services designed to provide electric vehicle owners with convenient solutions to those factors that may have caused future i-owners to hesitate before purchasing an electrically charged vehicle.
According to Robert Healey, BMW North America’s Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Manager, the goal is “to give [i drivers] maximum confidence and a premium experience…”
For instance, the portfolio includes access to ChargePoint and a ChargeNow card. The card provides BMW i drivers with access to over 14,000 public stations on the ChargePoint network for easy charging on the go.
Another peace of mind solution provided with BMW 360 Electric is BMW i’s assistance services. These services provide customers with 24/7 roadside assistance and ConnectedDrive technology, which supplies real-time navigation and charging station information as well as remote access to the vehicle.
The portfolio will also include a home charging station with a Bosch Vehicle Charging Advisor to enable safe installation.
If you were a little nervous about making your first electric or plug-in purchase with the EV i3 or the plug-in hybrid i8, quit worrying. BMW’s 360 Electric package gives you a full, 360 degrees of coverage. What more could you need?
