2014 promises to be a big year for BMW. The automaker starts the year with a series of announcements at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which begins on Jan. 7 in Vegas.
BMW’s ConnectedDrive technology will be featured throughout the show. The technology “focuses on the link between the driver, vehicle and outside world through the use of an expanding range of assistance systems, as well as infotainment and entertainment features.”
The system provides a personalized experience through navigation, traffic assistance, concierge services, and an i Remote app that allows drivers to share information from their smartphones with the vehicle.
BMW’s first EV, the i3 will also be on display. The fully electric vehicle offers an 80 to 100-mile driving range and will go on sale during the second quarter of this year with an available range-extender model.
In an effort at full disclosure, test drives in the BMW i3 will be given on a first-come, first-served basis throughout the show, and several BMW representatives will be on hand for interviews.
We at BMW of Bowling Green will be sure to keep you updated with all the details on BMW’s big announcements. Here’s to the new year.
